The Wooden Hull Yacht Club is dedicated to bringing together people who are interested in cruising and racing wooden yachts. Our goal is to stimulate interest and continuing love and respect for the skill, design and workmanship which only a wooden hull boat can reflect.

As classic sloops, schooners, ketches and yawls disappear we aim to encourage the restoration and preservation of sailing maritime heritage. Our members take pride in the ownership and appearance of their sail and power boats and wish to share with and educate others in the beauty of classic wooden vessels.

Here's a quick rundown of our race and event calendar.  Please check the events page (button to the left) for further details.

The Yesteryear Regatta

May 10th, 2014 - San Diego Bay

Our event calendar kicks off with The Yesteryear Regatta, organized by our friends in San Diego, The Ancient Mariners Sailing Society.  The Yesteryear  will be held on May 10th.  This is the first event of the California Classic Yacht Series for 2014.

Several WHYC boats are planning on making the trip to San Diego, your Commodore included.  Our presence at the San Diego event helps to generate enthusiasm for our events in Marina Del Rey and Newport Beach.

Please refer to http://www.amss.us/yesteryear-regatta.html for more information.
