The Wooden Hull Yacht Club is dedicated to bringing together people who are interested in cruising and racing wooden yachts. Our goal is to stimulate interest and continuing love and respect for the skill, design and workmanship which only a wooden hull boat can reflect. As classic sloops, schooners, ketches and yawls disappear we aim to encourage the restoration and preservation of sailing maritime heritage. Our members take pride in the ownership and appearance of their sail and power boats and wish to share with and educate others in the beauty of classic wooden vessels.

Sat May 16th - 17th Newport Heritage Regatta, BCYC, Newport Beach
The Newport Heritage Regatta is returning to the WHYC calendar in real style. We have partnered with the SCYA 2008 club of the year, the Bahia Corinthian Yacht Club and the Leukenia Foundation to bring together a truly special event. Saturday May 16th will feature the WHYC Heritage Regatta followed that evening by our participation in the BCYC Leukimia Cup kickoff dinner and charity Casino night. BCYC will have a special WHYC class in the Leukemia Cup regatta on Sunday May 17th.

This is a great opportunity for the club to not only participate in a much larger event but also donate to a very worthwhile cause. All Heritage entrants will receive a commenorative skippers bag and be able to particpate fully in the Leukemia Cup events during the entire weekend. I encourage all wooden sail boat owners, not only WHYC club members, to take advantage of this occasion and get out there for the excitment of this great event and the chance to give something to those so in need. Guest slips will be provided by BCYC for those travelling to particpate.
